Over 45 Years Service to the Community of Upper Hutt
District Governor Alex Irvine oresents the Club Charter to President Tom Croft, 21 November 1970
The Club was formed ion the 9th September 1970 with the assistance of the Rotary Club of Upper Hutt. One of the foundation members of the club, Brian Cooper, is still an honourary member.
From its very first year it began its tradition of service to the community both in Upper Hutt and beyond. Its first projects involved participating in Australian Matched Exchange Scheme, sending a breeding pig to Tonga, supporting local schools, assisting other clubs with their projects and commencing a swimming pool for an IHC home.
Today the same traditions are supported with continued support of our neighbours in the Pacific as well as support for local schools and initiating community projects.
The club has been served by 240 members during its 45 years.
