Service Above Self
Actively Helping Others
The Rotary Club of Heretaunga is part of Rotary District 9940 and has served the Upper Hutt Community, near Wellington, NZ for over 40 years. The club meets twice a month and is involved in a number of local projects and activities.
The club is active in the local community supporting a range of activites with funding and utilising the expertise of clubs members.
Traditionally Rotary has been active in a range of international projects.
We support a variety of projects benefitting youth in our local community and beyond.
The annual bookfest is our main fundraising activity. The funds raised from bookfest are fed back into the community through our projects. Bookfest also provides a valuable service to the community.
Over the last year the club has been actively supporting the community in a number of projects. We were local category winners in the Wellington Airport Community Awards for our work with youth in 2016.
The irradication of the dreadful disease Polio from the world has been a goal of Rotary International for many years. The goal has very nearly been achieved and our club has actively supported this work.
